Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 01 : Dibrugarh - Sivasagar (80 km / 1.5 hrs)

Welcome on arrival in Dibrugarh Airport / Railway station. Transfer to Sivasagar. Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 02 : Sivasagar - Mon (130 Km/5 hrs)

Morning drive to Mon. Evening free at leisure.
Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 03 : Mon – Longwa - Mon (42 kms/02 Hrs)

Morning visit Longwa village bordering Myanmar with the Angh's (chief) house partly in India and partly in Myanmar. Explore the village as you meet the local people. The original headhunting Konyak tribe used to tattoo their faces or their body as a mark of achieving a certain headhunting goal. As the practice is no more, people with tattoos on their face are the older men who had been successful in headhunting during their time. The Morung pillars have massive wood carving with motifs of tiger, elephant, hornbill, human beings etc. Later visit Shangkhachingnyu village as you meet the local gun- smith and step in the Angh's house see the animal head trophies on the wall.

Day 04 : Mon

After breakfast drive to Shangnyu village 28km 2hrs, here you will see the wooden monument measuring 8feet in height and 13feet in breath – believed to be constructed by the heavenly angles. Human being and other creatures are carved on this monument. One can also see the memorial stone erected in front of the Angh's house. Post lunch visit Chui village bear a witness of the true Konyak Naga traditional house where the main pillar of the house jutting out of the roof.

Day 05 : Mon – Sivasagar - Jorhat (130 Kms/05 hrs)

Today you experience a total shift from the hill to the plain as you drive to Sivasagar once the Capital city of the Ahom Kingdom. Proceed to Jorhat. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 06 : Jorhat - Mokukchong

With packed lunch drive to Mokokchung- the headquarter of the Ao Nagas. They are known for their colorful attires and are regarded of having the most motifs shawl among the Nagas, which usually speaks the person's status in the community.

En route get introduce to a Rengma Naga village TSEMINYU one can also collect their souvenir as we will see fantastic local weavers in this village.

Picnic lunch. Drive to Longkhum village (Ao village) which was known as the vanguard of the Ao region during the spear and dao era. As the village is situated at 1586 mt. above sea level we can see some part of Himalaya on a clear winter morning. Depending on the time of arrival, explore Mopunchket village bamboo forest. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 07 : Mokukchong- Tuophema (120 Kms/05 hrs)

Morning drive to Touphema Village Resort run by the local Angami tribe. Explore the region and overnight in resort.

Day 08 : Touphema - kohima

Morning drive to Kohima, Nagaland's capital city. Visit Bara Basti village the 2nd largest village in Asia. Next visit the State Museum where one will come across a good representation of Naga attires and way of life, Kohima War cemetery and Church. Overnight in hotel.

Day 09 : Kohima - Khonoma - Kohima (20 Kms/01 Hrs)

After breakfast take a tour of the green village visiting the Morungs, meeting the local craftsmen. Visit the age group house & the ceremonial gates. Collectively Khonoma was known for its fighting prowess in the past and for the fallow management of its alder trees which balance the nature and its surrounding areas. Enjoy picnic lunch. Afternoon indigenous games will be displayed.

Angami Naga, Jakhama Village

Day 10 : Kohima - Jakhama Village - Kohima

Morning visit the local bazaar where one can be introduced to the Naga food items consisting of vegetables, insects and fishes. Later visit Jakhama village experience the real Angami Naga tribal way of living. Also visit the Heritage Complex where the Hornbill festival is celebrated every year from the 1st of December to 7th of December. Overnight in Kohima Hotel.

Day 11 : Kohima - Imphal

Morning drive to Imphal, Manipur's capital city.

Day 12 : Imphal

Today we take you for a cultural tour of the city covering monuments, temples and ceremonial places highlighting Imphal's rich past. Visit the Govindajee Temple, largest Krishna temple, the Khwairamband Bazaar the uniqueness of this market is that all the shops are owned and operated by women. and the War Cemeteries- Imphal has been major battle ground for British and Japanese forces during World War – II. Overnight in Imphal.

Day 13 : Imphal - Keibul Lamjao National Park - Imphal

Visit the Keibul Lamjao National Park (the only floating park in the world). It is the last natural habitat of the marsh dwelling brow-antlered deer locally called 'Sangai'. Drive to Moirang (45 km), the ancient capital of the Manipuri Kings. It is also the center of Meithei culture. Visit Loktak and Sendra lake Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in the North East. Watch the unique floating islands 'Phumdi' that are actually floating weeds on which people live!

Day 14 : Imphal - Departure

In time transfer to Imphal Airport for onward journey
