Overview

The program starts with the Guwahati, the gateway for north east.. For its climate and unique topographical features the British referred Shillong as the “Scotland of The East”. Visit Cherrapunjee, It was once having the record of being the wettest place on earth, with an average rainfall of about 1150ms. Visit Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the home to the endangered one horned rhinoceros. Included in the program is the stay and visit tea garden famous for Assam Tea. Majuli is currently listed as the world’s largest river island in the Guinness Book of World Records.

    Itinerary

    Day 01 : Guwahati Airport - Nameri (250 km/ 05 hr)

    Upon arrival at Guwahati airport, our company representative will meet & assist you with traditional welcome.

    Later transfer to Nameri National Park. Overnight at Eco Camp, a camp resort close to the sparkling Jia Bhoroli river which forms a boundary to the park.

    Day 02 : Nameri - Ziro (Approx. 350 Km/ 08 hr)

    After breakfast transfer to Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute we'll visit the villages of the Nishi tribe. At 5754 ft., Ziro is almost a level valley enclosed on all sides by pine-clad low stooping hills. This area is the home of the Apatani tribe.

    Day 03 : Ziro

    Full day excursion to the interior of Arunachal Pradesh. Using Ziro as a base the entire day is spent visiting the Hong village, one of the largest tribal villages in Asia & other Apatani villages like Bulla village.

    Day 04 : Ziro - Daporijo (180 km/ Approx.6-7 hr)

    Departing early after breakfast we descend from the Ziro Plateau & drive along the Kamla river valley through dense jungle country, passing picturesque villages of the Nishi & the Hill Miri tribes. Daporijo is a fairly large village on the banks of the Subansiri river. It is the junction of three important tribes: Hill Miri, Tagin & Adi-Gallong. Overnight at a village lodge/Circuit House.

    Day 05 : Daporijo

    Full day excursion to the interior of Arunachal Pradesh exploring villages of the Tagins & the Hill Miris or Adi Gallongs.

    Day 06 : Daporijo - Along (178 km/ Approx.6 hr)

    After breakfast we drive to Along in the Siang River Valley. It is the territory of the Adi tribe, one of the largest tribes in Arunachal, with lots of sub groups. On the way to Along, we pass through many small villages (Kabu, Kayin etc.) that we can stop & visit. The Adis are very accomplished weavers of cane goods. The excellence of their cane work shines supreme in the famous cane suspension bridges of Arunachal Pradesh.

    Day 07 : Along

    Full day excursion to the interior part of Arunachal Pradesh. We follow the river Siang in the northern direction & visit the Bori & Pailibo sub groups of the Adi tribe. After having packed lunch at the Bori-Adis village we will hike back to the road head & drive to an Adi- Gallong village.
    Overnight at hotel /Resort.

    Day 08 : Along - Pasighat (105 km/ 4 hr)

    After breakfast drive to Pasighat. Enroute we visit Minyong-Adi villages like Panging. Pasighat, located on the right bank of the river Siang, is the oldest town in Arunachal. Overnight at hotel /Resort.

    Day 09 : Pasighat - Aohali - Pasighat

    After breakfast leave for Aohali to see Idu Mishimi tribal villages. Later back to Pasighat. Overnight at hotel/Resort

    Day 10 : Pasighat – Dibrugarh (Approx.5 hrs ferry & a short drive)

    Transfer to Dibrugarh, one of the main tea belts in Assam. Overnight at hotel/Resort

    Day 11 : Dibrugarh - Mon (Approx. 180 km/ 5 hr)

    Transfer to Mon in Nagaland. Mon is the home of the Konyak Nagas. They are famous for their accomplished craftsmanship in making woodcarvings, headgears, necklaces etc. Overnight at a local home/Circuit House.

    Day 12 : Mon

    Full day explore the villages of the Konyaks covering Shangnyu and Chui villages. The villages are ruled by the hereditary chief the 'Angh'. Overnight at a local home/Circuit House.

    Day 13 : Mon - Mokokchung (via Assam) (Approx. 220 km/ 7 hr)

    Transfer to Mokokchung, the home of the Ao tribe of the Nagas. The Ao Nagas are famous for their colourful dances. In the evening enjoy an Ao Naga cultural show. Overnight at a Village Resort or Tourist Lodge.

    Day 14 : Mokokchung

    After breakfast we will drive to Mopungchukit village. Meet village folks, see their culture and custom. In the afternoon go to Ungma village. It is the oldest and biggest Ao village & according to a legend the early Ao tribe settled here after coming from Chungliyimit.

    Day 15 : Mokokchung - Touphema (121 km/5 hr)

    After breakfast drive to Longkhum village, a vanguard Ao village during the days of head hunting. One can find exquisite handicraft and handloom items in this village. Later transfer to Touphema. On the way visit a village of the Lotha tribe near Wokha. Touphema is an Angami Naga village. In the evening enjoy an Angami Naga cultural show. Overnight at Local hotel/Resort.

    Day 16 : Touphema - Kohima (41 km/ 90 min)

    First half with the village folk. Later in the afternoon transfer to Kohima, the Nagaland capital. It is located at an altitude of 1444 meters. It is a beautiful town historically known to the world for halting the Japanese forces in the World War II. The War cemetery is a must see. Apart from that the museum-where one will come across a good representation of Naga attires and way of life Overnight at hotel /Resort.

    Day 17 : Kohima - Khonoma village - Kohima

    Excursion to Khonoma, another interesting Angami Naga village. Located 20 km West of Kohima, Khonoma village is known for the valor, courage and fighting ability of its people in the past. The village is noteworthy for conservation of nature. This is an area where you may see the rare Blyth's Tragopan, the state bird of Nagaland. Overnight at hotel /Resort.

    Day 18 : Kohima - Dimapur Airport (74 km/2 hr)

    Transfer to Dimapur Airport on time for your departure flight.
