Overview

North East India is famous for its ethnic and cultural diversities. It is also place for Tribal Culture. The program starts with the Guwahati, the gateway for north east. Visit Nameri and Kaziranga national park. This national park is famous for single horned rhino .Included in the program are Bomdila and Tawang monasteries. For its climate and unique topographical features, the British referred Shillong as the “Scotland of The East”. Visit Cherrapunjee, It was once having the record of being the wettest place on earth, with an average rainfall of about 1150ms.

    Itinerary

    Day 01 : Arrive Guwahati
    Arrive Guwahati Airport.Upon arrival, meet & assist by our company representative and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Guwahati is situated on the Southern bank of the mighty River Brahmaputra. Previously it was known as Pragjyotishpur (The City of the eastern Light) Guwahati is the fast growing premier city and it is also the gateway to the North Eastern states of India. This city subsequently got the name Guwahati (Guwa-means beetlenut and Hat – means market in Assamese) Overnight at Guwahati hotel.
    Day 02 : Guwahati – Nameri National Park (255 kms./ 05 hours drive)
    Post breakfast; check-out from the hotel and drive to Nameri National Park- one of the two national parks in Assam is known for Mammals like Elephant, Tiger, Leopardand over 300 species of birds. The river Jia- Bhoroli and its tributaries crisscross the park. Upon arrival; check-in to the Eco camp and rest of the time free at leisure. Overnight at Eco Camp.
    Day 03 : Nameri National Park
    Early morning go for the nature walk and the bird watching trip into the dense jungle of Nameri National Park with the forest guards. Afternoon you can opt for Mild River Rafting in Jia Bharali river adjoining to the Nameri National Park.Overnight at Eco Camp.
    Day 04 : Nameri – Bomdila (125 kms. / 04 hours drive)
    Morning after an early breakfast departs for Bomdila. En-route visit to Bhalukpong-a picturesque town. Visit an Orchidarium where you can see some of the rare and endangered species. later drive to Bomdila. Upon arrival in Bomdila, check-in to the hotel. Bomdila; a picturesque town in the foothills of Himalayas. One can see the brilliant landscape and snow-clad Gorichen ranges of the Himalaya on a clear day. The town is famous for Bomdila Monastery, built under the guidance of Dalai Lama. Also visit craft center, where very fine wooden carpets of colorful designs and facades are produced. Overnight at Bomdila hotel.
    Day 05 : Bomdila – Tawang (180 Kms./ 06 hours drive)

    Post breakfast; drive to Tawang. En-route visit to Jaswant Garh; a war memorial for slain soldier Jaswant Singh Rawat. In spite of his death he is being awarded promotions as if he still alive.

    Drive past Sella Pass; the entry point into the Tawang Valley. It is at an elevation of 13700 ft above the sea level. The glimpse of Paradise Lake in the Sella Pass makes your visit worth. Most of the time, the lake is covered with thick blanket of snow. Upon arrival at Tawang, check-in to the hotel and evening free at leisure.Overnight at Tawang hotel

    Day 06 : Tawang

    Post breakfast proceed for a tour in Tawang visiting; Tawang Monastery (Vihara); about 400 years old and the second largest Buddhist monastery in India. Also visit Urqelling Monastery; the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama who is the only Indian to have risen to such a high position in Gelupka Sect of Buddhism so far.

    Also visit Sangestser Lake; also known as Madhuri Lake is located 35 kms away from Tawang near the China Border..Overnight at Tawang hotel

    Day 07 : Tawang – Dirang (140 kms./ 06 hours drive)

    Post breakfast; drive to Dirang. En route visit to Nuranang falls. Upon arrival; check-in to the hotel. Dirang; is an ideal hill resort in West Kameng district with beautiful Apple Nursery, Kiwi Farm, Yak Research Centre, Buddhist Gompa, Hot Water Spring and ancient Dirang Jong (Fort). It is the base camp for trekking to Gorichen peak and other bird watching trails.

    Afternoon; visit to natural hot spring, Apple gardens and the Yak Breeding farms.
    Overnight at Dirang hotel

    Day 08 : Dirang - Bhalukpong (140 kms. / 05 hours drive)
    Post breakfast; drive back to Bhalukpong. Upon arrival; check-in to the Tourist Lodge. Rest of the day free at leisure for own activities. Overnight at Tourist Lodge
    Day 09 : Bhalukpong – Kaziranga National Park (135 Kms./ 02 hours drive)

    Morning after breakfast; depart for Kaziranga National Park. Kaziranga National Park; home of Horn Rhinoceros Upon arrival at Kaziranga; check-in to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure.
    Overnight at Kaziranga Resort.

    Day 10 : Kaziranga National Park
    Early morning enjoy the elephant safari in the central (Kohora) range of Kaziranga. Later return to the resort for breakfast. Afternoon enjoy the ethnic cuisine in the Natundenga Karbi village adjoining Kaziranga NationalPark. Late in the afternoon enjoy the exclusive Jeep safari in the western (Bagori) range of Kaziranga. Overnight at Kaziranga Resort.
    Day 11 : Kaziranga – Shillong (285 Kms./ 5 hrs drive)
    Post breakfast; drive to Shillong, also known as The Scotland of East. En-route visit to Barapani (Umiam Lake);It is a hub for the water sports activities such as speed boats, sailboats and water scooters. Adjoining to the lake, the Nehru Park offers an aviary and a collection of orchids and butterflies. Upon arrival at Shillong, check-in to the hotel. Shillong is one of the major tourist destinations in North East India. The British loved this place so much that they had established its Capital for Eastern Bengal and Assam. For its climate and unique topographical features the British referred Shillong as the "Scotland of The East". Overnight at Shillong hotel
    Day 12 : Shillong – excursion to Cherrapunjee (56 Kms. / 1.5 hours drive)
    Post breakfast; proceed for a full day excursion to Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee; locally known as 'SOHRA' Cherrapunji offers a panoramic view of the hilly terrains, deep gorges and valleys with its spectacular waterfalls. It was once having the record of being the wettest place on earth, with an average rainfall of about 1150ms. Here in Cherarpunjee, we will visit Nohkalikai falls; known to be the fourth longest fall in the world. Also visit Mawsmai Cave; 250m long cave is the major attraction for the tourists in Cherrapunjee..Evening return back to Shillong, en-route visit Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views.Overnight at Shillong hotel
    Day 13 : Shillong

    Post breakfast; proceed for a tour in Shillong visiting Shillong Peak; it is the highest point of Shillong, located in the upper Shillong an altitude of 1961 meters (6,433 feet). Later visit to Elephant Falls; one of the majestic waterfalls in Meghalaya. The water of these three steps falls comes down in flows from different levels over the fern-covered rocks and falls into the canyon down below. Also visit to Wards Lake and Cathedral of Mary Help of Christian. Overnight at Shillong hotel

    Day 14 : Shillong - Guwahati (95 Kms. / 02 hours drive)
    Post breakfast drive back to Guwahati. Upon arrival; check-in to the hotel and later proceed for a guided tour visiting Kamakhya Temple; an ancient seat of Tantric and shakti Cults of Hinduism. Later visit to Shankardev Kalakshetra; a place where Assamese history and culture is depicted in a sprawling open enclosure. Rest of the day free at leisure for own activities. Overnight at Guwahati hotel.
    Day 15 : Guwahati – Departure

    Post breakfast; check-out from the hotel and transfer to Guwahati airport to board the flight to onward journey.
